Paddle school, no homework

Paddling 101

Everything we wish someone had told us before our first paddle. Read it in five minutes, forget half of it, come anyway — we'll walk you through the rest on the beach.

Lesson 1

Paddleboarding

Stand-up paddleboarding is how most of us start. Flat bay water, a wide board and about ten minutes is genuinely all it takes to feel steady.

Before you go

Your first-paddle checklist

Sun

Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat with a strap and sunglasses on a leash.

Bring

Water, a snack, and a dry bag or ziplock for your phone and keys.

Safety

A life jacket on board, your leash on, and a friend who knows the plan.

Mindset

Nobody is watching you. Everyone fell in on their first one — it's the fun part.

No board? No problem. Rentals are available. You can book a board from our partner Sunchaser SUP on the event page as needed, and she brings the boards right to our meetup location.

The best way to learn is to show up

All women are welcome. Every experience level, every age, every body, every background. You belong here.
